This time last year.......

I got pregnant! Ill never forget the day we found out. It was Sunday January 29, 2010 and it was the first month we were "trying". I knew it might take a few months but I was still hoping it would take the first time...and sure enough it did!

That whole week I knew something was off. I kept having rediculous hot flashes and I also had a few dizzy spells. I actually took 2 tests that week that were negative but it was just too early to test (I tend to be a little anxious ). That Saturday I bought 2 of the "cheap" tests with the plus or minus signs. Well, there was a VERY faint plus sign, but Josh claims he didnt see it... (men, haha)

So, the next day, Sunday, we had our tennis match. I played earlier than Josh and when I finished I left to go home. I stopped on the way to buy yet another test. I knew it was the right time to test and wanted to be sure so I bought the digital test so there would be no question. I hurried home and took the test. 3 minutes is an eternity when you are waiting on such a HUGE result...something that will change your life! I remeber thinking while waiting that it was probably negative and not to get my hopes up since I had seen so many negative tests already this week and knew it was rare to get preggo on your first try. WELL, when I looked down, the screen said PREGNANT! I let out a litle scream and jumped up and down. I knew Josh was on his way home so I quickly showered and sat on the couch waiting for him to come home.

As soon as he walked in the door I ran over to him and held up the test. At first he didnt know what it was, but when he read it, he was shocked (even though we had a faint test the day before). He really didnt think it would happen this fast but he was so excited. We immediately went to each of our parents houses to share the news!

I cant believe that was one year ago! And know we have the most beautiful, perfect baby boy! We love him SO very much!

3 Months!

Wow the time is really flying by! Brett is now 3 months old and sooo much fun! Josh and I are enjoying every minute. I am still home with him since I decided to leave my job and find something closer to home. I was excited to get to spend more time at home and not have to rush back to work. I have a few possibilities lined up so I might find a job sooner than expected. This is a good thing, but I was kind of hoping to be home for 2 more months but oh well. My mom is going to be keeping him for us and if I get a job close by I can go see him on my lunch break! :)

I can honestly say I feel comfortable going back to work now. We have Brett all figured out, and he is sleeping pretty good. Here is what he has been up to:

Sleep: He sleeps from 8pm-8am waking once or twice to eat either at 2 or 3am then 5 or 6. He only takes short naps 30-45 minutes and he is up again.....but he is always happy! :)
Clothes- 3-6 month clothes fit him perfectly. He has a long body so some of his 3 month onesies are too tight, but 3 month pants are a little long and still lose in the waist. His feet outgrow his footy PJs before anything!
Weight- According to our scale he weighs 16lbs! But the kid is solid as a rock! He has only a little chunk on him and he is still only breastfed. I can actually see his little ab muscles when he stretches haha!
Height- I think he is around 25 inches long
Eating-Brett eats 5-6 oz of breastmilk every 3 hours and he can go about 6 hours at night.
Milestones-He is grabbing things so well! He has started to put everything in his mouth. He can bear all his weight on his legs when we stand him up. He talks ALL the time and sometimes sounds like he is yelling. He really loves to hear his voice. He smiles all the time, even when he is upset we can get him to smile.
Loves-His Jumper, watching Tom & Jerry, bath time, Mr. Bear (See picture below), Sitting in his bumbo, standing up
Hates- Tummy time, being held for a long time, other than that he's pretty happy!

Here is the photo shoot! There are a lot! :)
Bright flash! :)
Talking away!
Kali still doesnt know what to think. :/
Getting better at lifting his head!
Just started to notice his feet!

Here is a video I took of Brett talking! He always stops as soon as the camera is on so I was excited to get this one!

Happy New Year...a little late

Well we ahd a great New Years! We took Brett on his first car ride (4.5 hours) and he was amazing! He slept pretty much the whole way, and then the last hour Josh got in the back with him to "play"while I drove. We were worried he wouldn't sleep that night since he slept so much in the car.

We took our time getting there stopping to feed Brett and then again for lunch so we could take him out of his seat for a little bit.

We went to Boone, NC where a friend of ours has a cabin. We were thrilled to see tons of snow left over from the Christmas snow the week before!
Isnt this beautiful!

This creek runs through the front yard.

I got Brett all bundled up! He looked like a blue lobster! :)

He even took his 1st 4 wheeler ride! (JUST KIDDING!!!)

Brett got dressed up forNew Years...but was in bed LONG before midnight! :)

The trip was awesome, but there was one down side......

Apparently my 4 wheel drive doesnt work in the snow! oops! ;)
(Josh was not very happy with me)

The boys spent an hour trying to get it out...and finally did later that day when some of the snow melted some more......Sorry honey....I guess thats what we girls get for wanting to go shopping! :)
