34 Weeks and shower pics

We are almost to full term! Im getting so excited, and have yet to get nervous..but I'm sure that will come!

This weekend was great! I was introduced to consignment sales thanks to Mrssouthernbelle! 

On Thursday  night I ran up to a local sale, not expecting much, but found a TREASURE! I found the exact chicco car seat I registered for with 2 CAR BASES! In the store, the car seat and 1 base is $180 and the extra base is an additional $80...well I only paid $90 for all 3! A savings of $170- and it is in GREAT condition...it looks brand new! I was/am quite proud of my bargain shopping, and I know my husband appreciates it, since I am not usually this way!

As if saving $170 wasn't enough, I remembered on Friday there is a consignment store near my office. I wandered in there during lunch and found another steal! The snap 'n go stroller frame I registered for ($70 in store) was there for $27! Of course I couldn't resit and called my husband with my exciting news! Another $50 saved! So, I managed to save us $22o over the weekend..money we put towards the glider we ordered!

This beautiful diaper cke made by my friend Jenny! She did such a great job! I plan on keeping it together as long as possible and NOT using the diapers in it! :)

My friend Erin's Mom made these adorable cookies with Brett's name and initials on them! They were yummy and cute.

Me and the lovely MrsSouthernBelle. She took some maternity pics for me and had one framed for the shower..it was so sweet! I will post the pics she took when I get them on my computer.

This is me with my mom, MIL, niece, niece's mom, and SIL. Love our family! :)

34 week Update!

I dont feel like I have grown that much in the last few weeks.....either he is stabling out or I am just used to being HUGE! :) But I don't think he has dropped any yet.....which is fine. The Dr. said last week that he is head down so at least he is facing the right way...now he just needs to start engaging!

Also, I think the nesting has started. Over the weekend I cleaned the bathroom, did 3 loads of laundry, did dishes, swept the whole down stairs and vacuumed! This is very out of my norm lately, but I just HAD to get it done! Josh kept telling me not to wear myself out, and that he was going to clean Monday, but I couldn't wait!

*How far along?: 34 weeks!

*Total weight gain?: none this week! :)

  *How big is baby?:  18 in and 5 lbs

*Sex: Sweet Baby Boy!

*Maternity clothes: Yes- and my husbands T-shirts. Some of which are too short for my belly!

*Stretch marks: Nope! Still a tiny red dot on my right love handle but it hasn't changed

*Sleep: eehhh....waking up every hour from 11-2 then only ever few hours until 7. Im just uncomfortable and still having heart burn, numbness in my hands, and reflux :( But surprisingly I dont feel exhausted during the day.

*Symptoms: Feet and ankles still very fat at the end of the day and I have now developed late pregnancy carpel tunnel syndrome! :( My hands ache in the morning and all day long- and I wake up with numb hands in the middle of the night alot.

*Movement: All the time. I think I make him mad because I always find his foot and keep pushing it when he moves it away :)

*Food cravings:  Ice COLD Chocolate milk and apple juice!

*Labor signs:Some period like cramps now and then and I think I am having BH's. I thought it was just Brett stretching out, but someone said thats what BH's feel like so maybe we are getting somewhere!

*Belly button in or out: Flat on the bottom but the top sticks out...

*What I miss: Being able to sit up, taking a deep breath, walking normal, sleeping on my back, sleeping through the nite, not peeing every 5 minutes, my ankles! I think you get the idea ;)

*What I'm looking forward to: My Bday next week! Its on Labor Day so I have the day off!

*Best moment of the week: Finding my treasures at the consignment sale!

33 weeks!

We are getting closer! Only 5 or 6 weeks to go!

I had a GREAT shower this weekend thrown by 4 sweet girls. They really know how to throw a shower. There was a diaper cake, chocolate fountain, and even cookies with Brett's initials on them! I was very touched by the whole thing!

I also feel a lot more  prepared to bring home a baby! We got a lot of the little things that are must haves for a  baby such as the diaper pail.

Bottles, bottle warmer, wipe warmer, our diaper bag (which I love!) It has lots of pockets and great size portable changing pad!

The girls gave me a Shell Silverstein book (The  Giving Tree) and had everyone write a special message to Brett on the back page! It was such a thoughtful gift and I cant wait to read it to him!

*How far along?: 33 weeks!

*Total weight gain?: 33.5 lbs total...Waiting for it to stabilize!!

  *How big is baby?:  18 in and 4.5 lbs

*Sex: Sweet Baby Boy!

*Maternity clothes: Yup. But I am SOOOO excited for fall clothes! I cant wait to be able to buy normal things again!

*Stretch marks: I think one is trying to start on my right love handle...its a tiny red dot and hasn't changed at all...so maybe it will stay that way!

*Sleep: Not bad, just waking up every 2 hours to pee, roll over, take tums etc.

*Symptoms: Cankles at the end of everyday, always feel like I have to pee.

*Movement: Always. I actually felt him in the middle of the night last night. Lets hope this is not a pattern :)

*Food cravings:  Ice COLD Chocolate milk and apple juice!

*What I'm looking forward to: Work shower and another friend shower!

*Best moment of the week: My shower on Saturday and getting more done in the nursery! We decided to save some money and re-paint a dresser my parents had for Brett's room and it looks awesome! I didnt take a before pic, but it was dark brown and very scratched. This piece is special because it was my great-grandmothers and its in GREAT shape. We painted it cream and added new bronze knobs which really look great!

32 Weeks and a meltdown!

The weeks are coming and going quickly and I am soo OK with that. This last week has really been different than the weeks before...I am starting to feel SLUGGISH and walking is sometimes painful! 

We had a wedding to go to this weekend in Knoxville and I was looking forward to getting out of town but what I did not realize, is that it would wear. me. out. Im not a fan of getting dressed up at this point, simply because I never feel like I look nice enough...just frumpy. I had packed some black, flat sandals to wear to the wedding (given that my feet haven't seen a heel in over 4 months) wanting to be as comfortable as possible. WELL, the last few days my feet and ankles have looked more like those of a 400 lb person rather than my own and when I went to put on the sandals....well it looked like a roast tied up with string with part squeezing through the side (see pic below).

I hoped no one would notice and packed some flip flops in my purse just in case. I then went to meet everyone in the lobby and as soon I saw one of my friends, I lost it! I started sobbing and when asked what was wrong, all I could get out was, "my shoes won't fit". I know this seems silly but at the time I was so upset..I guess this is an example of third trimester fatigue/hormones yadyadyada... So everyone said it was fine if I wore flip flops, which I did, but I just felt embarrassed for not looking nice...and of course I noticed all the ADORABLE shoes everyone else was wearing :)

The rest of the night was fun...baby Brett danced in my tummy to the music all night! We came home Sunday and I put my feet up all day and could see my feet again by the end of the day! Im happy that we have no other occasions to get dressed up before the baby arrives.

Here is this weeks update!

*How far along?: 32 weeks!

*Total weight gain?: 32 lbs total...

  *How big is baby?:  18 in and 4 lbs

*Sex: Sweet Baby Boy!

*Maternity clothes: Yup...wearing more dresses because they are roomier...but they make me look huge. Oh well. Im comfy :).

*Stretch marks: Nope...we are in the home stretch (haha no pun intended)

*Sleep: Good when Im sleeping, but waking up 3-4 time now to pee/take tums!

*Symptoms: Always feeling like I have to pee....hips still loose and kinda sore. My feet and ankles are swelling more by the end of the day.

*Movement: Still moving all day long and and staying quiet at night. I thought he was trying to bust through my stomach the other day! He is getting strong!

*Food cravings:  Ice COLD Chocolate milk and apple juice!

*Labor signs:I think I had some BH's the other day. I called the Dr cause they were like menstrual cramps but they were just BH's.

*Belly button in or out: Flat

*What I miss: Wearing my wedding rings :( And cute shoes...

*What I'm looking forward to: Shower with friends on Saturday! Im really excited about this one! :)

*Best moment of the week: The nursery has been painted and bedding is on! Just a few more things to do!

31 Weeks!

 31 WEEKS!!! 8 or 9 to go!! :)

Sorry this is so late...I have no excuses! Buuutttt THE BEDDING IS HERE!!! It came yesterday and I LOVE IT! Here is a sneak peak....I will take more pics when things are more organized!

 

This is the bumper and the bedskirt on the bottom. I dont have a crib sheet yet so its just a bare mattress for now.

Here is the Update!

*How far along?: 31weeks!

*Total weight gain?: Up 1 pound this week 31 total

  *How big is baby?:  keep reading conflicting reports...some say 18 inches and 4 pounds and others say 17 and 3.75 so who knows!

*Sex: Sweet Baby Boy!

*Maternity clothes: Ugghh....they are getting uncomfortable so I wear a lot of Josh's shirts at home. He came home last night to find me sitting in my underwear in one of his T-shirts. He said, "Do you not have any pants on!??" I told him no, that nothing fits and I was comfortable! :)

*Stretch marks: Nope...keeping fingers crossed!!

*Sleep: OK...waking up more frequently to go to the bathroom and to take TUMS for my heart burn. Rolling over is really getting hard and I am pretty sure I groan very loudly every time I have to move.

*Symptoms: Hips and groin are sore a lot. My knees also are a little achy. If I walk for a long time I feel like I have to pee soo bad but I really dont. Its just a lot of preassure. :( Also, I am soo congested that my ear is clogged :( Apparently nothing can be done to relieve it until Baby is born.....

*Movement: All the time! He moves all day long and I never feel him at night while Im sleeping so Im hoping he will keep this schedule when he comes into the world!

*Food cravings:  Ice COLD Chocolate milk!

*Labor signs: Still nothing, wondering if and when Ill get some BH's

*Belly button in or out: Flat, but the top pokes out now...my nieces are very fascinated with my strange looking belly button and "the line on my tummy" :)

*What I miss: Wearing my wedding rings :( And cute shoes...

*What I'm looking forward to: Birth class on Saturday and my next shower in 2 weeks!!

*Best moment of the week: My friend MrsSouthernBelle took some maternity pics for me this week and I CANNOT wait to see them. She is a super talented photographer, and I know they will be awesome! Ill post them when they are ready!
