Ohhhhhh We're Half Way There......

Wow I cannot believe are half way through this thing! The 2nd time definitely goes a lot faster. So much for the weekly updates, but I guess every few weeks is better than nothing! We got to see our sweet baby boy today for the 20 week ultrasound! He really looks like Brett at this age. :)

I still have a good bit to do as far as the nursery goes. We are moving Brett in to the guest room and keeping his room as the nursery since it has all the trim which is kind of baby-ish. This is exciting but I have to get 2 rooms ready now: a big boy room AND a nursery, We are going to get Brett some new furniture and use the crib we have for the baby......who has a name now!!

        Blake Hamilton Bonner

I did not want another B name at first, but we kept coming back to Blake. Hamilton is from my side of the family- it was my great grandmother's maiden name and is my grandfather, father, and brother's middle names as well.

Here are my stats for this week:

*How far along?: 20 Weeks

*How big is baby?: The size of a Banana- 10 inches from head to toe

*Weight Gain: up 16 lbs- I had gained at least 20 with Brett at  this point....doing much better!

*Sex: Baby boy!

*Maternity clothes:Some shirts and all jeans/pants. Love my skinny maternity cords! Still normal pjs and yoga pants.

*Stretch marks: Nothing new

*Sleep: Still pretty good- waking up once a night to pee.

*Symptoms: Starting to feel it when I do too much- my lower back has been hurting lately. My back it breaking out terribly- its like 8th grade all over! Stupid hormones. At least it isn't my face :)

*Movement: Yup! All the time now.

*Food cravings: Sweets- still hooked from the holidays.
*Labor signs: Nope
*Belly button in or out: In but top is already flat.
*What I miss: Wine ;)

*What I'm looking forward to: Getting the rooms started.

*Best moment of the week: Settling on a name!

Week 17

17 weeks.....the weeks are flying by and I am not doing a good job keeping up with these updates!

*How far along?: 17 weeks 5 days

*How big is baby?: The size of a turnip- 5 inches from head to rump
*Weight Gain: up 12 lbs- I had gained at least 15 with Brett at  this point so Im doing good! My size has evened out a little the last 2 weeks and I dont feel as huge as I did.
*Sex: Baby boy! He almost didn't show us the goods for a second time but FINALLY gave us a good shot after 10 minutes!

*Maternity clothes:Some shirts and all jeans. Still normal pjs and yoga pants.
*Stretch marks: The few around my belly button from Brett are more noticeable, but hoping not to add to them!
*Sleep:Pretty good- I was so tired after Christmas I didn't event wake up to go to the bathroom 2 nights in a row!

*Symptoms: Finally not nauseated anymore and I have my energy back during the day! My Sciatic nerve has really been bothering me, but I have been on my feet a lot with Christmas and stuff. I am starting to feel it when I do too much- which is easy to do with a 2 year old to play with :)

*Movement: Yup! It's still faint but I love it- feeling more kicks and less flutters.

*Food cravings: Still nothing really- my appetite has been very normal with this pregnancy where as with Brett I was starving all the time!
*Labor signs: Nope
*Belly button in or out: In but top is already flat.
*What I miss: Nothing right now.

*What I'm looking forward to: My 20 week ultrasound- I cant wait to see his sweet face!

*Best moment of the week: Christmas! It was so fun this  year with Brett! He is at the best age and really had  blast opening all his presents!

Here we go again!

Well I am 13 weeks 5 days now, so I guess I should start posting these weekly updates so I can remember the details later! Because, all us moms know that part of our brains are removed after child birth! :)

This pic was taken over the weekend so I think Ive grown since then.....

*How far along?: 13 weeks 5days

*How big is baby?: The size of a peach- 2.9 inches

*Weight Gain: 8 lbs- not bad since I had gained over 10 with Brett at this point. I think its because I have been sick this time.....

*Sex: We find out Dec 8!

*Maternity clothes:Some shirts and all jeans. Still normal pjs and yoga pants. Trying to be creative with my wardrobe in this transitional time.

*Stretch marks: The few around my belly button from Brett are more noticeable, but hoping not to add to them!

*Sleep: Ok on some nights but not because of being preggo- our resident toddler likes to wake up in the middle of the night and have one of us come in his bed.....its a work in progress.

*Symptoms: Nausea and fatigue still hanging around. Meds help with the sickness but I'm trying to not take them. Also, my hip joint started hurting this week which seems so early, but it is a 2nd pregnancy.....

*Movement: Maybe? I feel flutters every so often so I think that's the baby?

*Food cravings: Nothing really- I just have a small aversion to chicken but not all the time. When Im hungry its the worst. Hunger quickly turns to nausea if I don't eat quick.

*Labor signs: Nope

*Belly button in or out: In but top is already flat.

*What I miss: Wine! haha that's it.

*What I'm looking forward to: Finding out the gender

*Best moment of the week: We had an U/S Monday and it was so great to see the little baby moving and flipping around!

2 years old!

Wow, 2 years has come and gone! I cant even remember what life was like before our sweet baby boy! Cliche but true! Here is an update on everything BRETT!!

Height: 35in (67%)
Weight: 32lbs (89%) He is solid!
Diapers: size 5 or 6
Shirts- 3T
Pants- 2T, but he needs a belt and the legs are a little long :)
Shoes: 7 1/2- 8

Brett talks all the time! He has really started to put sentences together and is getting better everyday! He loves to be outside and when he is inside he likes to play with trucks, pretend to cook, and chase our dog, Kali.

He goes to bed at 8:30 and sleeps until 7 or 7:30 and naps about 1 1/2- 2 hours a day.

Brett has quite the feisty personality and has a little temper that comes out too! Mostly with Josh. When he gets mad he grits his teeth and starts smacking Josh on the legs arms or where ever.....don't worry we don't let him get away with it!

Brett's favorite foods are fruits and veggies...seriously! He loves broccoli, peas and green beans, and they are usually the first thing he eats off of his plate. He also loves bananas and oranges- I actually keep the oranges hidden because he wants one every time he sees them!

We took the front rail off of his crib a few weeks ago and he is doing great....except that he is going thru a phase (I hope its a phase- and a short one!) where he wont go to sleep unless someone is in his room with him.....I have almost fallen asleep on the floor in his room a few times this week!

We went to the Beach last weekend for my niece's gymnastics competition and a little R&R. Brett had so much fun at the beach, that I wish we lived there! He played in the sand and water for hours! He dug hole, filled up dump trucks, and even helped some big kids catch fish!

On Brett's actual Bday (Tuesday) we went to dinner with the family and I made him a birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Brett! More fun to come at your party this weekend!

Where have I been???

Wow! I think this is the longest I have waited between blog posts! We have been busy with everyday life and there isn't much down time for blogging between working and chasing our wild little boy! Brett will be 2 years old in 2 short weeks and I am trying to get a party thrown together! Since Brett is 1 million percent boy, we will be having, what else, a sports themed birthday! The kid loves sports....or balls that are used in sports, so it only seemed fitting!

Speaking of sports, that is also the (semi) theme of his new big boy room that I have started planning! We recently removed the front railing of Brett's crib and put up a toddler rail. He has been a champ and has yet to climb out of his bed, or refuse to go to sleep. He actually runs into his bed every night after his bath now! Hopefully he will continue with this!

Another thing I have been thinking about is potty training. I have heard a few people tell me about the 3 day potty training boot camp and I think I will try that sometime soon. I know Brett is ready, but I dont know if I am! The boot camp requires you stay home for 3 days straight and that makes me nervous! I like need to get out of the house a few times with a busy toddler! So, my goal is to start sometime between now and thanksgiving. I dont want to throw him in a new bed, a new room AND take him out of diapers too close together!

Here are some recent pics of our life lately and a few trips to the best kid place EVER, Catch Air. Brett absolutely LOVES this place and I have fun there too! :)

Bye Bye Baby......

......Hello Little Boy!

I have realized in the last few weeks, that my little baby boy is no longer a baby. He is, in fact, a little BOY!  He runs, jumps, climbs, brushes his own teeth, tells me when he is hungry, stinky, or wants to go outside. He is so independent! For the first time I did not carry him into school last week- he walked in all by himelf. I love that- but it also makes me sad.

We recently had to buy Brett all new shoes because he out grew them all while we were on vacation. He now wears a 7- 7 1/2. I was in denial about this. Those shoes look soo big and surely wouldn't fit him, but alas, they did! I see those shoes laying in the house and they are a reminder that he is now a little boy.

This week Brett turned 21 months old...as in he will be 2 in 3 short months! I think the 2nd year has gone by way faster than the 1st. Please slow down!

Stats:

Weighs 30 lbs!
Height..not sure 34 -35??
Shoes: 7
Tops 2 -3T
Bottoms- 2T
Diapers: Still 5
Sleep: 8:30- 7 at night (sometimes later!) and 1-12 to 2 hrs at nap time.
New Words: Outside, itchy, sky, ice pop, slide, just to name a few.

Brett is very independent and will shake his finger and yell "na na" if you are trying to do somethig to him! He will also tell you to bop! (stop!)

He now runs from me when its time for a diaper change and tries to hide behind the couch!

Here are some pics from our life lately!

Life Lately.....

...Has been BUSY! Nothing really special but time is flying and I can't slow it down! My sweet baby is now 20 months old!! I actually feel weird telling people he is 20 months instead of saying "he is almost 2". I guess thats a mamma's way of keeping him a baby as long as possible!

Here are his stats:

Weighs 29.5 lbs and is around 34 in tall.
He wears 2-3T tops and 18 month or 2t bottoms depending on brand.
Shoe size is a 6- soon to be a 7 I think!
Diapers size 5.
He eats GREAT and loves green beans more than anything.
He sleeps from 8:30-6:30ish or later and naps once a day for 1.5- 2 hrs.
New words: Chapstick, Oh wow, stinky, cup, top, box, sock, giraffe (gaf), tweet tweet, quack quack, water (wa-wa) and others im sure Im forgetting.

Brett is 1 million % boy and we love him so much! He is talking more and more every day and loves to run everywhere, even if it is only 2 feet away. :) I dont think a day goes by without a new bump or bruise but he is tough and doesnt let that stop him!
Here are some pictures of what we have been up to lately:

A quick trip to Charleston so I could sing in the Spoleto Festival with my choir

Hello Paradise!

Josh and I had not taken a vacation alone in almost 3 years! I know there are probably many people who think thats not that long but I was ready to have some relaxation time. :)

This wasn't the first time we had left Brett (We had left him for a night here and there a few times) but this was the longest for sure- 3 nights and 4 days! Fortunately I think he is a lot easier for the Grandparents to handle now that he is a full fledged toddler. GULP!  He eats regular food, goes to sleep like a champ and as long as he is outside, this kid is a breeze. So, knowing this, we boarded our flight and headed to Islamorada, Florida Keys and a little place called the Cheeca Lodge and Spa.

I found an AMAZING deal for this swanky spot on LuxuryLink.com. If you have never visited this site I highly reccomend doing so. It is kind of like ebay for vacations, you can bid on great vacation packages all over the world or you can choose to  "buy it now" if you are in a hurry. We saved a lot of money doing this instead of booking thru the hotel site.

Needless to say, the Cheeca lodge met and exceeded our expectations! We were greeted with free champagne in complimentary take home glasses, and our room had a fruit bowl and bottle of wine. I felt like we were on a 2nd honeymoon!

Its nice to know that a place so tropical is only a short flight away! Seriously its a 1 1/2 hr flight and we rented a car and drove about an hour and 20 minutes from Miami to Islamorada.

Room View- thru the screen porch

We ate lots of great fish and sipped on many high caolorie frozen drinks....and of course Corona!

Thanks again to my parents and Josh's parents for watching are baby boy. I know he had fun! It was so nice to get away and stay seated for more than 5 minutes! :)
