The Plan!

Ok! So, I might be a little ahead of myself but I am going to do everything I can to get the baby out this weekend!
Yesterday I was not in a good mood. I had cramps, I was tired, and pretty much feeling like I was going to be pregnant FOREVER! I had  a Dr's appointment schedule, but was not expecting anything. Last week I wasn't dilated at all and the doors were very tightly closed. I actually wasn't even planning on getting checked this week, but the Doc had other plans.
At first I wasn't thrilled, because being checked is not the most pleasant experience. ( But I know there is a lot worse to come! ) So I reluctantly agreed and to my surprise we had made progress!! I was now 1cm dilated an 70% effaced. The Doc was very pleased with my progress in just a week and said, "You have done really well this week, it could be soon!" So I asked, "Sooner than 2 weeks? (Since that is my EDD) and he said "oh yeah"!
I know it still doesn't mean anything...and I shouldn't get my hopes too high.....but I have decided on a "plan" for this weekend! Well it actually starts tonight!
2 of my friends and I are going to dinner tonight to get some Eggplant Parmesan! I think this is a local thing, but MANY claim it can put you into labor. I am more than willing to give it a shot.
(not sure if I will like it but I will eat it anyways!)
AND the moon is full and there is a front coming in this weekend, so I have mother nature on my side! ;) I also plan on walking a TON. Last weekend I walked around a festival Saturday and then Sunday walked the mall for 2 hours AND walked the dog. I could barely move by Sunday night but I think thats what helped get things moving!!!
There is also one more thing  (*cough *cough) thats helps get labor started, so I think Ill give that a whirl too! ;) If anything, it will help with progress...and hopefully by next week SOMETHING will happen. I am SO ready to meet this little guys I cant stand it!
If you know of any other wives tales that can help please share......but I am NOT drinking Castor oil...I want to go into labor, not die!

  1. LOVE this post! I actually sat like i was doing butterfly stretches the last 4 days of being pregnant and Georgia came on her due date, so I was pretty happy. Good luck!

  2. Oh my gosh I forgot about this!!!! I have heard about the Eggplant Parm. in the past and totally forgot about it. I am also taking Evening Primrose Oil supplements (supposed to help soften the cervix) and drinking Traditional Medicinals Organic Raspberry Leaf tea. :)

  3. I know this sounds weird - but play with your nipples - and not in a nice way either. get a little rough with them. It releases oxytocin (the natural form of pitocin that they use to induce labor). My cousin put herself into labor that way!! Good luck :)
